Omegas, also known as essential fatty acids, are more important than ever during pregnancy, not only for the baby growing inside you, but for your skin as well. You see, that little baby is tapping into your body’s stockpile of Omegas to perform crucial tasks like making a healthy brain and eyes. It is all wonderful and exactly as Nature intended, but as your body happily gives these Omegas away, your skin may pay the price, at the time it needs it most.
It is sometimes argued that a high-quality Omega-3 supplement is a pregnancy essential, since these essential fatty acids are crucial for baby’s brain development and helping your skin endure the 9-month stretch. Our pregnancy skincare products are jam-packed with organic Omega-rich oils, so your skin can get the essential nutrients it may crave. Remember - 30 inches of stretch over nine months, which is no easy feat.
The newer the stretch mark, the better the result. We recommend treating stretch marks the moment you realise you have them.
Step 1: Apply Goodbye Stretch Marks 3 times daily. Paint it on like finger paint covering each stretch mark. Let it dry for 1 minute. Then remember to moisturise! Our Megamama Body Lotion is super rich, smells amazing and is pregnancy safe.
Step 2: Apply your chosen Tummy Rub Oil or Butter twice a day. Both products are completely safe to use whilst pregnant and breastfeeding.
The way you lose weight now that baby has arrived can make a real difference in how your skin recovers. Losing weight at a slow, steady rate is the best way to help you bounce back to your pre-baby glory. Remember to keep applying our Tummy Rub Butter or Oil for four months after giving birth to keep your skin strong and healthy and to help it shrink back to size.
Since exercise boosts circulation, targeting areas with stretch marks can help skin look smoother and healthier.
1. T pushups (chest and abdomen): Start in a normal pushup position with your hands placed under your shoulders; hold plank position for a few seconds. While your body is up, twist your torso towards the ceiling and raise your right hand to the sky. Do 2 sets of 15 on each side.
2. Lateral leg circles (hips and thighs): Kneel on a mat with your left knee against a balance ball and with the right leg extended. Lift the right leg straight out and slowly make small circle movements in each direction with your lifted leg and then switch sides.
Since you’re working your hardest to improve the appearance of stretch marks, you don’t want to minimise your efforts by overexposure to the sun. UVA and UVB rays can greatly affect stretch marks and make them look worse, so be sure to apply sunscreen before heading outside. Older, stretch marks don’t tan in the same way your normal skin does, so they’ll actually be more apparent after unprotected sun exposure. So keep covered and apply sunscreen liberally throughout the day.
