More than 90% of women have them and yet despite being a baby-making badge of honour, these deep slashes across the skin are often one of the most feared side effects of pregnancy and are looked down upon like we haven’t taken care of our skin, when in reality our skin has taken care of us by accommodating the new life within us.
There is a genetic link to stretch marks, so the chances are if your mum has them, you are more likely to get them as well. But just as with wrinkles and eye bags on the face, we can put up a very good fight against our genes and take steps into our own hands! We can achieve this by nourishing our body from the inside out with nutrient-rich superfoods. If, however, your first line of defence against the dreaded mark has not succeeded, please don’t panic! You are absolutely not alone, and we at Mio are here to help you and give your skin the best support by offering you the very best advice we can.
This powerful blend of peptides, fruit and algae extracts and nourishing oils helps minimises the appearance of new and old stretch marks caused by pregnancy and weight fluctuations. Goodbye Stretch Marks is so effective because it helps skin on the surface and also below, at the dermal tissue level. It also contains amazing ingredients to help reduce the appearance of pigmentation and improve the appearance of uneven skin tone.
Apply Goodbye Stretch Marks 3 times daily for 12 weeks to see maximum benefits. You have to be religious about applying because if you don’t apply continuously, you won’t see the best results. If you are fading new, angry red scars, the difference will be much more measurable than if you are fading white or silver scars. Our Goodbye Stretch Marks is allergy tested, safety tested and pregnancy and breastfeeding safe. As with any cream, just remove from the nipple area prior to breastfeeding.
Step 1 - Apply Goodbye Stretch Marks 3 times daily. Paint it on like finger paint covering each stretch mark. Let it dry for 1 minute - Moisturising Miracles are a great place to start.
Step 2 - Apply your chosen The Tummy Rub Oil or Butter twice a day. Both products are completely safe to use whilst pregnant and breastfeeding. Although it sounds like a big commitment, it really will help. We have gotten feedback from mamas that managed to reduce the visibility on their existing stretch marks and avoid any new stretch marks – all this during their second or third pregnancies.
Gaining weight at a slow, steady rate is a great way to prevent stretch marks overall, and the reverse of losing weight works in exactly the same way. Any sudden weight changes can really affect your skin as it struggles to keep up with the stretch, so when you’re losing weight, keep in mind that slow and steady wins the race. Bounce back from pregnancy beautifully and your skin will thank you!
Since you’re working your hardest to improve the appearance of stretch marks, you don’t want to minimise your efforts by overexposure to the sun. UVA and UVB rays can greatly affect stretch marks and make them look worse, so be sure to apply sunscreen before heading outside. Older, stretch marks don’t tan in the same way your normal skin does, so they’ll actually be more apparent after unprotected sun exposure. So keep covered and apply sunscreen liberally throughout the day.
